Publishers and Suppliers

The following organisations and companies publish or supply books which can support the global dimension in both classroom and ITET. They include books and resources for use in the classroom, as well as global issues and pedagogy.

African Books Collective, founded, owned and governed by African publishers, seeks to strengthen indigenous African publishing through collective action and to increase the visibility and accessibility of the wealth of African scholarship and culture.

Development Education Centre South Yorkshire works with teachers and others involved in education, promoting a development and global perspective in the curriculum.

TIDE: Teachers in Development Education is a teachers' network which supports creative work to meet young people's educational entitlement to understanding the global dimensions, development perspectives and human rights principles which will shape their lives

Manchester Development Education Project works with teachers to raise awareness of global issues and publishes resources for classroom use

Institute of Race Relations has some excellent educational resources

Leeds DEC works with teachers to raise awareness of global issues and publishes resources for classroom use

Oxfam publishes many educational resources

The Geographical Association

Trentham is an international publisher of professional books and journals.

Zed Books publish some seventy books annually on international and Third World issues.
